Julie Matlin is a freelance writer living in Montreal, Quebec. Her work appears in The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Globe and Mail, Chatelaine, Today’s Parent, The Huffington Post, Canadian Living, The Forward, and other publications. She has one screenplay in development and is currently querying an essay collection called, Such a Nice Jewish Girl, which was supported by a Canada Council for the Arts grant.

Julie is a single mother raising two incredible humans, one fantastic dog and one who’s a bit of a monster. Her life’s motto is full-throttle, half-assed and she loves nothing more than a solid nap. She’s currently healing from recent trauma, but don’t worry – the best chapter is yet to come.
